Artist presenting: Yisehak F. Sellassie - International painter and sculptor. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. The presentation will start at 7:15 p.m. sharp.

For those interested in attending, please email lindakunik@gmail.com for more information.

Artist Bio:

Yisehak’s artistic talent was made apparent at the tender age of seven. Since then, his education and work have remained centered around his faith and artistic talent. Yisehak was first inspired by his grandmother, Princess Welete-Israel Seyuom. As a devout Christian, without any formal art education, he produced and dedicated spiritual paintings to Churches. Perhaps because of the dramatic experience of being uprooted from his native land and the separation from his parents forced upon him by the revelation, Yisehak’s work reflects a strong feeling for the human condition. Yisehak obtained his Bachelor of Arts degree from the Rhode Island School of Design in 1988, majoring in illustration. He currently resides in Northern California with his wife, Asqual, and two daughters, Edjig and Lissan. He works in two and three-dimensional designs and in a wide variety of mediums. He also accepts work on commission.

Artist statement:

'The way I paint is not realistic in the conventional sense. Although it has realistic elements, it conveys matters beyond the reality we see in nature into the spiritual, in the realm of faith. The Source of my inspiration is the Bible, and the guiding principle, the creative force is the Spirit of God, Which dwells in me by faith.'
