"At 33, I have a decade of experience in raising crucial funds for non-profits," says Dorin Esfahani, the passionate Director of Major Gifts at American Friends of Magen David Adom (AFMDA). A dedicated philanthropist and community servant, Esfahani embraces her deep roots in Beverly Hills public education, engaging her community in initiatives spanning mental health to emergency response.

Her role at AFMDA entails raising funds for Magen David Adom, Israel’s national emergency medical service, and increasing its awareness in the Los Angeles region. Her efforts support a wide range of life-saving initiatives, including the funding of emergency vehicles and medical equipment. "I have the privilege of working with Israeli heroes," she shares, humbled by her connection to those at the forefront of emergency services.

Before joining AFMDA, Esfahani's fundraising skills shone through her significant contribution to neuroscience and psychiatry at UCLA Health. "The pandemic helped shed a spotlight on the need for mental health funding," she says. During her nearly eight years with UCLA, she launched public education events, expanded clinic capacities, and raised millions, making her mark in an area vital to societal health.
